Several years ago I held a federal position that required me to purchase the explosives, firearms and ammunition for the staff. While at a staff conference, I was given the opportunity to shoot my first firearm. That firearm was a Ruger Mark II .22 caliber pistol. After shooting the Mark II I was hooked! I enjoyed the feeling of empowerment I received and wanted to learn and shoot more. Little did my co-workers know at the time, but they started a fire that would develop into one of the few female owned firearms training companies in the state of North Dakota.
With my amazing, fun side kick assisting me, Prairie Patriot continues to grow leaps and bounds. My side kick is my husband, Robert, of thirty years.
In 2013 we founded Prairie Patriot. When we instructed our 1,000 student the summer of 2017 we realized it was time to create our own facility. We listened over the years to our students about their wants and needs for equipment and education. Our goal is to be the community resource for not only Bismarck/Mandan but the entire great state of North Dakota.
Robert and I will continue to learn and grow our firearms knowledge and skills, and pass on this information to our students.
